Cédric Maridet is an artist based in Hong Kong. His practice relies on intensive field works and research to create videos, installations, photographs, sound compositions and works on paper that construct systems of signs and narratives based on history, fiction or science. His works that investigate possible relations of one’s landscape are presented internationally through residencies, group and solo exhibitions. He was awarded the Prize of Excellence in the Hong Kong Art Biennial 2005, Gold Award in Media Arts category at the 19th IFVA, and Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s Media Artist of the Year in 2014. In 2013, he was commended by the Secretary of Home Affairs for making outstanding contributions to the development of arts and culture. Some of his works and writings on the aesthetic of listening have been published as CDs and books.
